Nashville-based Healthcare Realty Trust Inc. is planning to buy 15 hospital buildings in the Charlotte, N.C. area, the company said in a conference call with investors.
The real estate investment trust said it had agreed to spend about $162 million on a portfolio of buildings on and off the campuses of three hospitals owned by Carolinas HealthCare System.
The buildings have a combined area of 760,000 square feet and will be 90 percent occupied at closing, said Doug Whitman, Healthcare Realty's chief operating officer.
