Accounting, finance jobs becoming available in Nashville

The labor market is expected to ease for Nashville accounting and finance professionals in the fourth quarter, according to staffing firm Robert Half International.

Eight percent of chief financial officers surveyed plan to add staff during the quarter, and 5 percent anticipate reductions in personnel, according to the firm’s Financial Hiring Index. The net 3 percent increase is up two points from the third-quarter forecast for Nashville and nine points above the national average.

"Companies recognize that carefully chosen accounting and finance staff are critical to their efforts to manage what remains of the recession and to take advantage of growth opportunities once conditions improve," said Max Messmer, chairman and CEO of Robert Half International.
"Firms also are tapping the expanded pool of available professionals to upgrade the skills and expertise of their teams," he said.
