Music City Star train to test new route to Lakewood

The Music City Star will launch a two-week trial run between Lakewood and downtown Nashville to test whether there is enough interest to justify expanding the passenger rail route.
The test run by the Regional Transportation Authority will run from Oct. 13 through Oct. 23. Tickets will be free on the first day and $4.25 per one-way trip on other days. Tickets will not be sold on the train platform but are available for purchase at Lakewood City Hall.

The temporary route was set up to gauge whether commuters from Lakewood and nearby Old Hickory and Madison would be interested in commuter rail service downtown.

The Music City Star currently runs Monday through Friday from Lebanon with stops in Martha, Mt. Juliet, Hermitage and Donelson.
